Few hundred species, of which we offer only a few. All have toxic sap which is harmful if it gets onto your eye or soft skin/mucous membranes. Other than this, Euphorbia in general are easy to grow and very heat tolerant. They like moderate amounts of water and fertiliser to grow well. Generally speaking, they prefer bright light rather than full, hot sun. Many Euphorbia will tolerate indoor light levels as long as they get reasonably bright condiions, like near a window. Keep drier when under lower light than when in outdoors to prevent root rot.
Euphorbia aeruginosa
Native to South Africa, Euphorbia aeruginosa is a striking dwarf succulent prized for its intense color contrast. It features slender, branching stems in a distinctive blue-green to copper-tinted hue, accented by sharp, deep-red to copper spines running along its ridges. In late winter to early spring, tiny, vibrant yellow cyathia (flowers) bloom along the stem tips. Highly drought-tolerant and slow-growing, it makes an exceptional centerpiece for indoor succulent collections or dry rock gardens.
